Beautiful and Great Quality, November 9, 2009 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Croscill Yosemite Western King Comforter Set (Kitchen) The picture may not do the fabric justice. There are some golden colors that pop out making the comforter colors more jewel like. Not over the top though. Green and red colors are in the fabric as well. They call this pattern yosemite and the style is southwestern lodge. However, the room we have it in is not designed like a lodge or even southwestern and it looks great. Kind of looks like kilim rug design. Comforter is heavy. May be able to leave out blankets for now.
Bed skirt is beautiful as well. The skirt is ultrasuede like and brown with a trim similar to the pattern in the comforter. Size was large enough to accomodate different mattress sizes.
The shams are beautiful. Topside of sham is same design and fabric as comforter. Backside of sham is solid brown.
Everything fit great on a big pillow top california king. Had some concerns because of the unusual size of the mattress-big chatham wells pillowtop-but everything fits great... Read more

What I have got here, a very thin comforter, my cheapest comforters have never been so flat even after years of use. The face fabric is pretty, heavyweight and good quality, but the batting is extremely thin and flat, comforter is not overstuffed by any means please!!! They put a thicker batting around the edges (5 inches around perimeter), and the thickness there is about 1 1/8 inches, the rest of comforter is 1/4-1/3 inches thick at most, it seems like there is no batting at all, it's a blanket with a heavy raisin covered facing, not a comforter. It is very warm like mentioned here, and I thought hey, this is what I needed for the winter, but it's like sleeping under the rug, not soft, not cozy at all, hence it will do good used for decoration purposes only. But keep in mind it lays very flat, not as pictured. The backing on both shams and comforter is made out of very cheap and low quality cotton. It also slides from the bed during the... Read more

My comments below would probably apply to this product.
If your concern is color and texture, and the comforter set is anything like the drapes, then GO FOR IT. The color is rich and the fabric beautifully textured almost like tapestry. I visited other sites while shopping for a closer look at the pattern and colors varied from site to site, but the richness and quality of the real thing outshines the photos here, though these photos aren't too far off. Colors are richer than shown here.
