I wanted a velvet or stronger type fabric comforter as I have a cat that runs over the bed at times and can snag more fragile fabrics. I also wanted it to look rich and match the curtains. It does what I wanted. Stands up to the cat well. It does show lint a lot but brushes off easily. The backing of the comforter is a very slick material so it tends to move and slide off. I do love the rich look of the comforter and how well it matches the curtains. The bedskirt looks great, but the flat part that lies over your bed is made of a very cheap flimsy material that tears easily if you pull on it. Also the throw pillows have all ready had seams pop open and I have had to sew them shut.
